The unintended expatriate blogger behind VimaQuiMelvora

Hello, I am Ana
I work as a project manager, I'm a parent, and I'm an expat in Lisbon, Portugal.
A few years back I moved here with my family, and what began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Portugal wasn’t in the master plan. Like many expatriate moves, it started as a job chance and soon grew into something far larger.
The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed harder than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning by doing. Yet over time, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built VimaQuiMelvora
Most online information was either corporate relocation advice or surface tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Portugal.
What This Site Represents (And What It Isn’t)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Portugal
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review platform
- A standard travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Portugal continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Ana
